Rapid infectious disease tests

Quick tests allow you to determine whether or not a person is infected by the virus in just fifteen minutes. While a PCR test presents a degree of complexity, requiring trained staff, quick tests are very easy to perform.

The PCR test is a direct method of diagnosis, while quick tests are indirect. This means that they do not identify the RNA of the virus. Instead, these rapid tests detect either antibodies produced against the virus (using a blood sample) or virus proteins present in the respiratory samples of a nasopharyngeal exudate.
